My Work
I'm a writer mainly writing children's/young adult books, but I also write short stories which have won awards and publication in many journals.
Most recently, I've written short stories for the wonderful Next Chapter Literary Magazine. If you live in coastal North Carolina drop by the Next Chapter Books and Art at 320 S. Front Street, New Bern. Not only will you be able to buy a copy of my books there, but you'll find many local writers and artists' works there. They apologized for cutting it from the final contest round and asked me to submit other work. Very unusual in this day and age.
I've always been a storyteller, including about the people I've seen at the train/bus/airport terminals. Or even in the grocery store. Everybody has a story to be written by or about them. Speaking of Next Chapter Books & Art, I'm doing a book signing there on November 27th, 2021 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. I will be selling and signing copies of Emily's Ride to Courage, which is a middle-grade horse book, and Earthquakes, a historical fiction young adult novel. You'll find more information about them on their separate pages on this website.
On December 11th, I will be selling and signing both these books in Beaufort, N.C., from 1 to 5 p.m. in a store yet to be decided. But I will also be talking about the two books I am currently working on. One of those is a beginning reader chapter book entitled SPACE JUNK and the other is a young adult novel entitled BAD HAIR DAY.
Beaufort is a charming coastal town with lots of history and an island just off the sound that has at least one herd of wild horses to see.
